PHOENIX (KSAZ) -
The Governor's Office of Highway Safety is working to make sure people stay safe this holiday season.
Governor-elect
Doug Ducey and law enforcement leaders from around the state kicked off
this year's "Holiday DUI enforcement" and "Sober designated driver"
campaigns.
Extra officers and deputies will be out most nights through the end of the year cracking down on impaired driving.
Police will also be ensuring motorists are driving safe by using seatbelts
In
2013, officers made 14,284 DUI arrests; of those 1,693 were for
aggravated DUI, an additional 3,726 arrests were made for extreme DUI.
